DESPITE losing out to Dublin kingpins Pembroke Wanderers, the Reds went through to the semi-finals of the IHL by a losing bonus point and now face their greatest rivals - Banbridge - in the finals weekend at Three Rock Rovers HC.

After weeks of hard work and preparation the Ulster Men and Women were named victors of the Junior Interprovincial Tournament 2013 which was hosted by Three Rock Rovers Hockey Club.

COLLY and Niall Gallagher made the trip to sunny Spain, where they would join the other 10,000 competitors in the Madrid Marathon. Colly had a great run finishing in 3 hours 28 mins, and Niall crossed the line in 4 hours 2 mins.

COOKSTOWN will have to show their mettle when they take on one of the biggest teams in Ireland on Saturday at the newly named Steelweld Park.

The Cookstown Mavericks progressed to the finals of this year’s McCausland Light & Rankin Anderson Cup at Banbridge on the evening of Saturday May 11 with three overpowering performances in the nine-a-side form of the game.

It is now one week until the Junior Interprovincial tournament which will take place at Three Rock Rovers Hockey Club, Rathfarnham, Dublin, Leinster on April 27-28 and Mid-Ulster will have a huge representation of the provincial side.
