Dog fouling at beauty spot

OFFICIALS from Cookstown District Council are monitoring reports of dog fouling at Lough Fea, a recent sub-committee meeting has heard.

The issue was raised after Councillor McGarvey requested to know what steps were being taken to prevent the problem.

Meanwhile, the same meeting heard how details of an incident involving a dog straying at Backlower Road, Stewartstown, were being forwarded to the council’s legal team with a view to instigation of formal proceedings against the owner of the animal.
