‘New Hope’ for Cookstown

THERE’S ‘New Hope’ for Cookstown, thanks to the opening of a new charity shop.

Cookstown and District Women’s Group was delighted to have Sandra Overend MLA open the new charity shop ‘New Hope’ in Positive Steps Community Centre, 2c Park Avenue.

Mary Hogg, Centre Manager paid tribute to Mrs Overend in her work as MLA in Stormont and in particular her knowledge of issues for women at grassroots levels.

Mary also said that in times of great difficulty in trying to keep the centre open and ensuring the work continues, the charity shop has been a proactive measure taken by the Board of Directors in ensuring some sustainability for the work in the future.
