Summer seats for canal walkers

WALKERS who enjoy the beauty of the Coalisland Canal will be delighted to learn that six new summer seats will be installed at various points along the route in the not too distant future.

Concrete has already been set in place for the seats at a number of locations between Moor Bridge and the High Bridge.

Canal enthusiasts will also be interested to know that plans are afoot to organise a Walking Tour of Coalisland and the Canal, looking at the industrial heritage and archaeology of the area in the lighter evenings.

Look out for details of the event in the local press.

Contributions and comments on the canal and history of the local area are also most welcome on the Coalisland Canal Facebook page.
