WHILE many fall at the first hurdle, the G Sessions five years at the top represent the pinnacle of Northern Ireland music.
Five years in and the quality experienced from the beginning continues to be at the forefront of all things Glasgowbury related.
October's adventure, the 'October Bash' as known by the regulars, is now officially regarded as the final word of the group's yearly events with not just a host of live talent but the now regular festival video.
The man behind the lens, Bobby Gordon, unveils his festival documentary featuring many of the bands on show as well as some of the audience related madness that we come to expect from putting thousands of people on the side of a mountain for a weekend.
Following the premiere of Glasgowbury 2008, two bands waiting in the wings get their chance to create a little bit of that unique festival atmosphere all over again.
Nuts to the floor rock and roll, Swanee River combine years of experience to deliver one of the most vibrant and in your face live shows you'll be only too proud to live over and over again.
Epic guitar solos riding atop the monster truck of sound that is Stevie Horner's vocals swirl and mix to form an unforgettable sonic experience.
All preceded of course by fellow Derry dwellers Here Comes The Landed Gentry, an original line-up of individually recognised and respected musicians combining to re-write the future of music.
It's a night to be celebrated as much as the festival itself, the official end to this year's shenanigans before next year's cogs start to turn and the ship points in the direction of July 09.
Swanee River
This dirty, bluesy driven rock sounds as good from the line-up that is Swanee River as it did from the legends who influenced them many moons ago.
Infectiously stelaing the hearts of all within ear shot, Swanee River have put on some legendary performances that fans and newcomers alike rejoice and revel in, losing inhibitions and preconceptions while melting into the musical mayhem.
Up front Horner leads the charge with a delicious range of voal abilities with three able-bodied soldiers in tow delivering the magical wall of noise that transcends.
Here Comes The Landed Gentry
Few bands emerge as sly and relaxed looking as Here Comes The Landed Gentry, taking success and glory in their stride with praise and recommendations in equal measures.
With abilities and likeable styles sustained and perfected in previous outings, each member is firmly dedicated to parading the Gentry with pride and their efforts are naturally rewarded.
