BRYSON'S continues to pull out all the stops before closing their doors at the end of May for a bit of a re-vamp.
This weekend's entertainment is delivered to you courtesy of Pat McManus on Friday and Canadian outfit The Paperboys on Saturday.

IT'S been said The Paperboys' music is hard to describe. Call it Guinness with a tequila chaser while listening to an
Americana Jukebox. Or a place where Irish, Mexican and Roots music collide. Both are probably correct

Hailing from Canda, the folk music band blend Celtic folk with Mexican, Eastern European, African, zydeco and country influences.

The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist and songwriter Tom Landa and currently currently consists of Landa, Kendel Carson on fiddle, Brad Gillard on banjo and bass, Geoffrey Kelly on flutes, and Matt Brain on drums.

Each of The Paperboys' last five albums has been nominated for a Juno Award; 1998's Molinos won for Roots and Traditional Album of the Year.

Molinos also won the West Coast Music Award for Best Roots Recording. In 2000, they won another West Coast Music Award in the same category for their album Postcards.

They've performed and appeared in the Genie Award nominated film Marine Life, for which Landa also wrote the musical score, and in the Genie Award winning Lunch With Charles, which was the first-ever film co-production between Hong Kong and Canada.

The Paperboys routinely sell out shows in some of the most popular and prestigious clubs and festivals throughout Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Europe. One of their most notable appearances was being asked to perform at The Kennedy Center for The Performing Arts in Washington D.C.

And this week they bring their magic to Bryson's for what may well be a sell-out show. Early arrival advised.
