VAUDEVILLE superstar Duke Special will link with Glasgowbury this weekend to bolster the charity efforts in aid of Haiti.
The colourful and vibrant performer will join forces with the iconic local group for the first time since headlining the festival's Small But Massive main stage in 2007, for a special one-off fundraising gig in aid of the disaster stricken country.
Feeling a need to get involved to show his support, the enigmatic performer will headline the Cellar Bar in Draperstown this Friday night (February 5th) with support from The Wonder Villains and Silhouette.
A rare tourer of these parts, the Belfast troubadour has consistently been one of the most intriguing artists of the new wave of quality music to stem from the country, and his local appearance this weekend looks set to be another legendary notch on the bedpost.
With five albums under his belt and work on various side projects in development, the Duke will be able to draw under a huge range of material to wow the crowd.
Previously set to take to the stage in Belfast as part of the Belfast4Haiti fundraising efforts, The Special one decided two gigs would be better than one and saw the Glasgowbury machine as the right opportunity to raise some further much needed cash.
Support comes from hotly tipped Derry duo The Wonder Villains who some have referred to as a female version of Oppenheimer, with clinker songs to boot.
Mid-Ulster's own Shauna Tohill completes the bill with her enigmatic solo project Silhouette, a multi-headed creation with a voice and style unique only to her.
All proceeds from this week's event will go to charity supporting Haiti.
As a non-ticekt event, the night will operate strictly on a first come, first served basis and entry at the door is set at £10 - so show your support.
