FILLED to the brim with sugar, hundreds of 14+ year olds across the country have been let loose inside a big hall in Belfast; playing one minute and fighting the next you'd be forgiven for thinking it was just another ghoulish party on just another Halloween night.
But said hall is the Ulster Hall and the hundreds of teens stand shoulder to shoulder with just about every other age group representable, ready to meet their heroes.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun breaks the screams, and according to the look of glee
from the hundreds packed up front ready to greet their icons, the time is close at hand.

They don't have long to wait. General Fiasco, barely visible through the darkness, dart on stage, each dressed head to toe in black, and without so much as a nod or a wave belt into Something Sometime.

The crowd go bananas. They sing along. Arms outstretched, they scream furiously. That splurge of emotion will be replicated many times over this evening.

Owen, Leaky and Enda however, are consistently focused and composed. If there are nerves, they're not on show. The next hour will fly through but in the here and now, it's a very special feeling indeed.

Between song banter is minimal, the songs instead will do all the talking and with Fiasco on their finest form yet that's a good thing.

There's substance and listening appeal in the likes of Desert Hearts and A Wise Decision (it's been a while since that particular oldie), but there's no holding back when the largest scream of the night so far comes for current single, We Are The Foolish.

A truly belting track, it dips and rises to the feelings of the crowd for who it looks like an early Christmas.

Ever So Shy and Dancing With Girls continue the all killer no filler trend waiting for stand out moments such as an acoustic and solo Sinking Ships to add something fresh to the mix.

Nearing an end we're treated to a first time airing of Buildings, what will be the title of title of their forthcoming debut album. And my, is it worth waiting for.

The sort of mainstream album track that will have radio stations up and down the country going gaga, Buildings is a heartbroken anthem by way of One Night Only that sees a grown up Fiasco at the top of their game.

If it weren't for the promise of Rebel Get By in the ensuing encore, we'd be leaving now, ecstatic. But it comes, and with just a touch of Halloween tomfoolery a la belly tops and skirts - an old tradition it would seem.

The crowd go suitably bonkers, the screams near deafening, while our three leading men lap it up confidently.

While they may have taken a gamble with a large slice of the pie, their courage has been rightfully rewarded. And this is still very early days.

Emphatic, over the top, dressed in drag - and that was just the boys on stage - the little band that could, have.
