A Book of Condolence has been opened in The Burnavon in Cookstown for those wishing to pay their respects to Nelson Mandela.

Chairman of Cookstown District Council, Councillor Pearse McAleer was the first to sign the book.

He said, “Nelson Mandela was a great leader, full of compassion and humanity. His actions rightfully influenced so many other leaders around the World. My thoughts are with his family and friends.”

The Book of Condolence will remain open until Monday 23rd December 2013.
