Two Cookstown Standard Bearers attended an evening of music, entertainment and remembrance hosted by Battlehill Pipe Band in Tandragee on Saturday, February 22.

Susan Parke and Norman Espie attended the event which was arranged in conjunction with Tandragee Royal British Legion.

Taking part in the packed programme were Moneyslane Flute Band, Tandragee Junior High School Choir, Mullabrack Accordion Band, Somme Memorial Flute Band, Killeen Drum Corps, Field Marshall Montgomery piper Derek Boyce, Pipes and Drums of the Royal Irish Regiment, County Armagh Drum Majors and Battlehill Pipe Band.

In the lead up to the Act of Remembrance, Royal British Legion Standard Bearers gave a colourful display after which the Pipes and Drums of the Royal Irish Regiment played a few regimental marches.

During the Act of Remembrance a bugler played the last post followed by a lament by a lone piper. An on stage poppy drop and one minute’s silence was followed by reveille played by a bugler.
