Aladdin comes to Cookstown!

ALADDIN, one of the best-loved adventure pantomimes arrives at the Burnavon theatre Cooksown this January courtesy of Stewartstown Dramatic Society.

Aladdin is a lovely sweet boy, his mother, however is not what you might call normal. Widow Twankey is larger than life in almost every way. Her other son, Wishee Washee, is just a bundle of laughs and madcap antics.

Aladdin finds himself imprisoned in a cave by the evil Abanazar. With only a magic lantern for company, he is more than surprised when he discovers a Genie who lives in the lantern. The Genie promises to bring him riches enough to marry the beautiful Princess, but can he escape from the clutches of Abanazar?

The group’s pantomimes have become increasingly popular with many shows sold out and have had the accolade of breaking box office records at the Burnavon last year. Tickets are very reasonably priced and can be booked online (www.burnavon.com) or through the box office (028 8676 9949). The show runs on weekends from 11th to the 26th of January.
