Seeing stars at Rainey

STARS in Yer Eyes will be coming to the Rainey Endowed School in Magherafelt.

This is an opportunity for the pupils at the school to transform into their idols for one night only.

Over 50 schools participate annually and the winning representative from each goes through to the final which has been previously held in some of Northern Ireland’s most prestigious venues such as Derry’s Millennium Forum, the Waterfront Hall and the Ulster Hall in Belfast.

The winner will also perform on television and the final will attract local and national media coverage for the school.

The school’s heat will be held on Wednesday, February 24 with doors opening at 7:30pm and curtain up at 8pm.

Tickets cost 5 for adults and 4 for concession and are available from the school office on 028 7963 2478. The public is advised to purchase early, as last year saw a complete sell out, resulting in disappointment at the door.

Participating in the competition are a few familiar faces such as Chelsey Chambers who recently recorded her own single, Caoimhin Callan and Melissa Riddell and joining them will be new talent Lisa Walls and the Beyonce tribute band.

There will be something for everyone’s musical tastes on what will be a fun-filled and entertaining evening. Please come along and cast your vote.
