AS always live music is to the fore this season at the Burnavon and if live traditional music is your favourite then you will be sure to enjoy the upcoming performances.

The fantastic Máirtín O’Connor Band plays on Thursday 16 February at 8pm (Tickets £15). Featuring Máirtín O’Connor on accordion; Cathal Hayden on fiddle/banjo; Seamie O’Dowd on guitar and vocals and Jim Higgins on percussion, this band has steadily evolved into a quality musical group since they came together over ten years ago.

Individually all four musicians have built solid reputations in terms of their ability and versatility as a result when they come together they produce some of the most outstanding traditional music you will ever hear.

Don’t forget that on Friday 16 March the Burnavon plays host to the annual St Patrick’s Celebration Concert (tickets £10) featuring a range of local musicians, performers and dancers supporting the folk group Stonewall as the headline act. With the entire evening compered by BBC’s Declan Forde, there is no better way to start the St Patricks weekend.

This is a flavour of what is coming up over the next few weeks which may be of interest to you. To find out more visit our new look website today www.burnavon.com for a full listing of all our upcoming shows and to purchase tickets on line or contact the Box Office on 028 8676 9949.
