TREAT your Dad to a visit to Springhill this Father’s Day where you can step back to the Edwardian era and enjoy a fun day out for all the family.

There is a new and interactive exhibition aimed at learning more about life in Edwardian times and the link between the Lenox-Conyngham family and the Titanic.

Springhill will come to life through living history tours as Reverend George, the father of the house prepares his family to leave for their journey on Titanic back in 1912.

Dads will love the display of vintage vehicles at the front of Springhill House.

A fun and interactive exhibition revealing stories about life in 1912, from travel through to communication and education will give children the chance to dress up in traditional clothing, play with Edwardian toys and have a go at writing on slates with chalk.

Mums can view the stunning Edwardian costume featuring day and evening dresses in silk, satin and lace, as well as an array of garments for men, girls and boys from the era. The costumes are displayed in room settings, which recreate the elegant and stylish interiors for which the Titanic was famous.

Follow the children’s trail around Springhill or relax in the surrounds of Springhill’s very own reproduction of an Edwardian café for some tasty treats and afternoon tea.

Father’s Day Fun will take place at Springhill on Sunday (June 17) from noon to 5pm. Normal admission applies and National Trust members are admitted free.
