COOKSTOWN Folk Club has just returned to base at the Burnavon following a number of very successful and popular public performances.

During the summer the group was honoured to be the opening act on the Gig Rig at the Fleadh in Londonderry. Then last weekend they led a night of music at Killcronaghan Activity Centre in Tobermore. This was followed by a performance on Saturday, September 14 in the Rickyard Theatre at Stuart Hall, Castle Stewart as part of European Heritage Open Weekend 2013.

The Folk Club meets to practise every Saturday at the Burnavon and is made up of talented musicians of all ages, many of the younger members originally participants in the Traditional Music in Schools project led by Donald Canavan.

You can check out who’s who and exactly what the club is up to on their Facebook page Cookstown Folk Club, or better still drop into the Burnavon any Saturday afternoon and hear for yourself just how good they sound!
