SPERRINS Gateway Landscape Partnership, in conjunction with Walking In Your Community, is offering a free one day Community Walk Leader training course.
The course will be held on Saturday, February 1 at Springhill in Moneymore.
Claire Overend, Development Officer from Walking In Your Community said the programme offers an excellent opportunity for people to learn about the essential skills to lead short, safe and accessible walks within their community.
“It also provides many benefits to communities as it can increase confidence, create new friendships and improve the physical and mental health of community members,” she said.
“It is all about easy access to your place and landscape,” added Stéphanie Baine, Landscape Officer of the Sperrins Gateway, “This training encourages people to come together in their communities to explore their own area at a level at which they are comfortable.”
