The Loughshore will be buzzing in the coming days as Moortown St. Malachy’s GAC play host to a festival of entertainment.
The creatively titled ‘WAN BIG WEEKEND’ in association with sponsors FORBES Racing gets underway tomorrow (Friday 2nd May) as some of the biggest names in sport and local entertainment converge on Moortown for the next three days.
All events will be hosted in in the comfort of a purpose-built 600seater marquee, equipped with full bar which has been set up at Lavery’s Corner in Moortown!
The opening event is a star studded “Question of Sport” tomorrow night featuring an unsurpassed line up which includes; the BBC’s very own Mark Lawrenson, RTE’s Marty Morrissey, Owen Mulligan, Martin Rogan, Willie Anderson and Jarlath Burns amongst others.
Start time is 8pm and tickets are £15 (or pay at the door).
On Saturday 3rd May there’s the hot and steamy “Full (Half) Monty” with their very own local line up as well as the outstanding comic talents of Patsy O’Hagan as ‘Mrs Brown’ and Cool FM presenter Connor Phillips hosting.
This will be followed by music from the Tiny Lions. Start time on Saturday is 8pm and tickets are £12. The action continues from 3pm on Sunday at “Moortown’s Monster BINGO”, with £4,200 in prize money up for grabs and a house jackpot of £1,200, someone will certainly be leaving with a smile!! Monies raised from the weekend go towards Moortown GAC and their chosen charities Opt for Life and CLIC Sargent.
