A 17-year-old boy had to be cut from his vehicle by firefighters after crashing on the Drumrane Road outside Dungiven in the early hours of Sunday morning [Sept 27].

It is understood the teenager suffered lowered leg injuries in the single car smash.

Three fire crews from Dungiven, Crescent Link and Limavady stations were mobilised to the scene at around 2.30am.

An incident report said they had to use both cutting gear and small tools to get the injured boy out of the vehicle, after which he was taken to hospital by ambulance.
