COOKSTOWN Scout Group recently held a gala ball to commemorate the Scouting Centenary in Ireland.
100 leaders, committee, parents, friends, past leaders and past scouts gathered for a celebration dinner in the Greenvale Hotel where during the night presentations were made to two of the current leaders in the group.

Firstly Declan McKenna, one of the scout leaders was presented with the Silver Merit Award for his contributions to the N Ireland wide programme of Scouting.

Secondly a long service medal for 25 years of service was presented to Philip (Gustie) Quinn for his unbroken service in the Cookstown Unit. Gustie is a leader in the Cub section of the group.

Later in the evening the group danced to music from Paul Cummings and his band and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all.

Thanks goes to all who attended the evening and who contributed to making the night so enjoyable. Their utmost thanks goes to all sponsors for their kind generosity.
