A COOKSTOWN man has reacted angrily to rumours he says are being put about around the town that he is a registered sex offender.
Thomas McElhinney contacted the MAIL this week in a bid to set the record straight.

Mr McElhinney said: “I am not in any way a registered sex offender as certain people have been led to believe.

“I have a young child myself and we are finding this very distressing.

“This child would obviously not be in my care if I was on any sort of offenders list.

“I can only hope raising this issue in public can end these rumours which are affecting me and my family.”
