THE first event of the Living History Festival took place on Wednesday, August 6.
Participants enjoyed a walking tour of Cookstown and were enthralled by characters from days gone by such as Dr Alan Cooke and James Stewart.

The event was organised with the assistance of the staff from the National Trust property Springhill House and proved to be a very successful evening. Feedback from the tour was excellent with comments such as, ‘extremely informative and enjoyed by all.’

There are still a few places available for the Living History Tours of Moneymore which take place on Saturday (August 23).

A Fair Day Out in the Village takes place from 12.30pm to 5pm on Saturday. A live brass band will perform from the centre of Moneymore, vintage cars will line the streets, there will be country market stalls in the market yard as well at a carousel, Punch and Judy and lots of children’s activities. This will be a great day out for all the family.

For more information on A Fair Day Out or to book a place on the free tour, please contact Cookstown Tourist Information Centre on 028 8676 9949 (Option 2) or email tic@cookstown.gov.uk
