POMEROY’S very own ‘songbird’ Andrea Begley has successfully gained her place in tonight’s live finals of BBC singing competition The Voice.
The 27-year-old Civil Servant won her ‘Knockout’ round against two fellow members of Team Danny to take her place in the Live finals which begins tonight, Friday, 7th June.
Andrea was competing against Abi Sampa and Alex Buchanan to gain a place for the live finals in Team Danny. Once again she wowed the judges and audience with her emotional and beautiful performance of the Eva Cassidy classic ‘Songbird’.
Andrea told the MAIL that since getting through to the live finals on Sunday night it has just been ‘completely surreal.’
She said: “I suppose it’s only really starting to sink in now, it’s been completely surreal. But it’s amazing, I’m overwhemled to have got this far in the competition. It really was such a pleasant surprise to get picked from the trio I was in, against Alex and Abi. I really thought Danny was going to pick Alex so it was a great feeling when he picked me.”
Andrea added: “I’m trying not to think about it too much, I don’t want to freak myself out about it, I’ll hopefully just go with it when the time comes.”
“The support I have received up until now has been amazing, I really appreciate it all and I hope everyone will continue to support me in the live finals.”
