There has been another attack on an Orange hall in the Mid Ulster area.

Salterstown hall, on the western shores of Lough Neagh, was extensively damaged in an overnight arson attack.

Local DUP MLA Keith Buchanan condemned the incident.

“This is an appalling attack on our Protestant culture and those who desire to live peaceably with their neighbours in the district,” he said.

“This attack once again demonstrates that there is an element in our society that continue to desire to drag Northern Ireland backwards. These people did not succeed in the past and will not succeed in the future.

“Hopefully those responsible for this attack can be identified and brought to justice, I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI so that those responsible might be brought to justice.”

Ballyneal Orange hall on the outskirts of Moneymore has been attacked on two occasions in recent months.
