Ballet Theatre UK’s internationally acclaimed company of dancers bring a dazzling new production of one of the world’s favourite ballets to the Burnavon, Cookstown on Saturday May 26.
Dramatic stage sets, elegant handcrafted costumes and Tchaikovsky’s beautiful music combine to tell a story based on a much-loved fairy tale set in an enchanted world of castles and curses, forests and fairies.
Once upon a time, in a land far away, the wicked Fairy Carabosse put a curse on Princess Aurora: to prick her finger and die on her eighteenth birthday. But the beautiful Lilac Fairy cast a spell to counter it so that, instead, Aurora fell asleep for a hundred years. Only the touch of true love’s kiss could awaken her and undo the evil spell.
This innovative company is enjoying rave reviews for its engaging and always entertaining performances. The Company’s talented dancers, winning five-star praise from audiences and critics alike delight with exhilarating dances.
