Sinn Féin Councillor, Sean Clarke, has said the recent proposals outlining the District Electoral Areas for the new Mid Ulster Council will be scrutinised over coming weeks.
The proposals dramatically change the make-up of the areas to elected councillors to the new structures.
Cllr Clarke commented, “These proposals are significantly different from the old boundaries and create a variation of five, six and seven seat electoral areas. The fact that there are proposals for electoral areas stretching from Broughderg to the loughshore or from Cappagh to Ardboe will generate plenty of discussion.
“Therefore as a political party we will be keen to engage with our elected representatives across Mid Ulster and indeed across the wider party structures to give these proposals our full consideration. The consultation period is open and we will be using that time to determine our response.”
