THE problem of the level of broadband access in rural areas of Mid Ulster has been raised at ministerial level by local MLA Patsy McGlone
SDLP Deputy Leader highlighted the issue with the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Industry during Assembly Question Time on Monday.
Mr McGlone said: “Despite recent investment by BT to upgrade the network in some areas of Mid Ulster, such as Moortown, Ardboe and Brockagh, there has been limited improvement in some areas.
“For many rural homes and businesses, broadband simply isn’t an option,” he said.
“The Minister has assured me that she will investigate the matter and will write to me with further information.”
