A MAGHERAFELT councillor has expressed regret at the closure of two businesses in the town.
DUP Councillor Paul McLean said the closures were regrettable and were “a sign of the harsh times” on the high street.
Dreams store at Rainey Street car park and nearby Chinese Mandarin Buffet closed last week.
“Magherafelt Council along with the town’s Business Forum have been working to keep businesses in the town and to attract new traders,” he said.
“Every town in the country is experiencing shop closures and it’s just an indication of the times we are living in.”
He expressed the hope that the New Year would be better.
