Boost for boilers

A COOKSTOWN company is celebrating after securing a £500,000 order for its wood pellet boilers.

Turkington Engineering, which trades as Turco Boilers, is the first company in Northern Ireland to manufacture biomass boilers and does so under license to its market distributors.

The company recently diversified from its main business of manufacturing biomass boilers, selling its pellet boilers to homes and businesses on the UK mainland.

Invest NI offered £50,000, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), to market the boilers.

“Invest NI’s support has enabled us to capitalise on market demand for an efficient biomass heating system,” said Ryan Turkington, MD of Turco.

He said this project has helped the firm to set a solid foundation on which it can build further product development.

“As our customer base in GB increases, we will extend our focus towards potential growth opportunities in Europe,” he added.
