Launched in Belfast by Harbinson Mulholland Chartered Accountants and the Ulster Business School, the ranking coincides with the creation of a new family business forum to support the sector, which collectively employs more than 52,000 people.

Stephen Acheson, Managing Director, AG, said: “It’s been nearly 60 years in business and we’re proud that we’ve retained as much of our heritage and family values as possible.

“We have grown from a small company servicing customers five miles down the road, to a pan-market business, known for our ingenuity, blending unrivalled expertise and innovation to deliver for our customers.

“But we still haven’t lost what makes us special, and that is the care and pride we take in our family’s legacy and our ambitions for the future.”

Michael McQuillan of Ulster University Business School, of which Harbinson Mulholland is patron, said they were delighted to support the project.

“News headlines, like the expansion of Draperstown business Bloc Blinds underline the importance of local companies in job creation.”
