Cafe is a no-go

AN application to open a cafe on the Orritor Road in Cookstown has been refused after it was ruled traffic parked there would obstruct vehicles driving in and around that area.

NM Developments, care of Newline Architects in Castledawson, had applied for a single storey cafe, but recommendations to Tuesday’s council meeting in Cookstown heard one objection letter and one objecting petition had been lodged.

The Department of the Environment made six points as to why the cafe’s location would be unsuitable - all to do with access, movement and parking.
