Cookstown District Council has welcomed the Stormont Executive commitment to the NI Community Safety College at Desertcreat.
In a statement issued after the delay-ridden project hit the headlines again with the news that the £130m college had been halted, the Council said there must be no further ‘procrastination.
“After an anxious week in Cookstown, this news provides much needed reassurance that Government remains committed to progressing this world-class training facility in Cookstown,” the council statement read.
“Council has and continues to be very clear that public commitments given over the last 10 years must be adhered to.
“This project must be delivered at Desertcreat with immediate effect and without any further procrastination.
