STATE-OF-THE-ART plans for a new eco-friendly Credit Union building have been unveiled for Ardboe.
The brand new 380 square metre building will be located in close proximity to the existing Ardboe Credit Union building on the Mullinahoe Road area of the village. Building is expected to be complete by 2013, with Cookstown base APS Architects LLP appointed to oversee the planning, design and project management of the new building.
Speaking about the exciting project, Martin Quinn of APS Architects said: “The new building, in addition to meeting the requirements for the current and future needs of the Credit Union and its members, will also have a focus on being eco-friendly, designed to use low levels of energy and generate sustainable energy.
“The exterior design of the building will incorporate natural materials including western red cedar and zinc. The building will also incorporate high levels of insulation and make use of renewable energy sources including an air source heat pump which can be used for both heating and cooling systems.”
APS Architects are currently involved in the tender process for the new building, with an invitation to main contractors interested in being considered for inclusion in the tender list also being launched this week.
