POLICE have seized a large quantity of cannabis plants following searches at a number of addresses in the Maghera area today.
A number of searches are continuing in the area and the police investigation into these seizures is ongoing.
Commenting on the seizure Area Commander Chief Inspector Sam Donaldson said:
“We are aware that drugs are an issue of concern to the local community in the area and local officers have been working hard to tackle the issue of drug supply and distribution.
“This find, will undoubtedly assist in disrupting supply, however, we would appeal to anyone who may have information in relation to drugs in the area to contact Police at Magherafelt on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
