Police have uncovered a cannabis factory in Carrickmore, worth an estimated £50,000
F District Inspector Robert McGowan said the drugs were seized by officers carrying out a proactive search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
“Equipment used in the cultivation of cannabis and other associated drugs paraphernalia were also found and have been seized for examination.
“This was a substantial factory and evidence at the scene would suggest a very large number of plants, in addition to those found by police, may have been grown at that location and have since been harvested.”
The inspector added: “Throughout F District officers remain determined to tackle the issue of drugs and to shut down the activities of those involved in their sale and supply in our communities.”
Information is vital and we would ask people to continue to bring information about illegal drugs to us so we can take action. The number to call is 101.”
