DUP Mid Ulster MLA Ian McCrea has congratulated all the competitors and Pipe Bands that represented Mid Ulster at this year’s World Pipe Band Championship in Scotland.

“As we all know the World Pipe Band Championships is the stage that all pipe band aspire to get to and I would like to personally congratulate all those from Mid Ulster who did us proud at this year’s competition,” he said.

“I would especially like to congratulate local girl, Emily Crooks who took third place in the Drum Major Junior Section. To come third at this level is indeed a worthy achievement and something to be extremely proud off.

“There is a great sense of pride in Mid Ulster at the moment due to the success of our local talent throughout the pipe band scene and I want to commend everyone involved with their respective bands for all the effort they put in all year round.”
