A GROUP of brave young people from the Cookstown area have recently taken to the skies to raise money for the Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke Association (NICHS).
The fundraisers even managed to surpass their target for financial success in just over six weeks thanks to the generosity of the community.
Ronan Rafferty, Nicky O’Kane, Mairead Doyle, Roisin Heagney and Amie Grimes managed to raise a fantastic £2,790 for the charity, thanks to donations from family, friends and local businesses.
Speaking after their amazing challenge, one member said: “We have all really enjoyed fundraising for NICHS, it has been a great experience and the amount of money raised makes all of our hard work worthwhile.
“We would like to express our thanks to all those who came to our fundraisers and donated money to the cause, it really means a lot to us.
“We would especially like to thank businesses who donated prizes to us for raffles, including the Killyhevlin Hotel, Time Bar & Venue, Sense Cookstown, KE Plumbing, Urban Hair and so many more.
“We would also like to thank businesses who gave donations, including JDC Joinery, Mill Wheel Bar and how can we forget about the help from Mulligans Bar throughout the fundraising.”
The team of skydivers are now looking forward to getting started on another charity challenge in the future!
