A repeat offending teenager who formerly resided in Cookstown but moved away to “disassociate from poor influences” has appeared back in court on a charge of theft.

Nineteen-year old David Armstrong who now resides at Mahon Road, Portadown but is currently remanded in custody on separate matters, is accused of stealing £3.19 worth of sweets from a supermarket on August 19.

Police under oath confirmed the charge could be connected. East Tyrone District Judge John Meehan remanded Armstrong in continuing custody to appear by video link later this month.
