COOKSTOWN SDLP Councillor Tony Quinn has expressed concern at recent disruption to the electricity supply in Cookstown.
A reported 1000 properties, both residential and businesses, are said to have been affected by the latest power cut.
He said: “I am concerned that there have been a number of disruptions to the electricity supply in Cookstown over recent weeks.
“This is the third time in recent weeks that the electricity supply has been disrupted in Cookstown.”
The SDLP representative has been in contact with the electricity board over the issue.
“I have been in contact with Northern Ireland Electricity who assured me that they identified and repaired an equipment failure at a transformer on Sunday morning,” he added.
“They are now satisfied that everything is back to normal.”
“Anyone who has been affected by the recent disruptions to the electricity supply in Cookstown can contact me and I will forward their information onto NI Electricity who can address any other concerns they might have.”
