POLICE are investigating an alleged ‘scam’ that occurred in a shop at Magherafelt.
A man paid for some items but then claimed he was short changed and managed to confuse staff into giving him a sum of cash.
The male is described as being in his 40’s with a shaved head and was wearing a black hoody with distinctive white sleeves and jeans. He spoke with a strong Belfast accent.
Police in Magherafelt are advising shops and retailers to be on their guard for these potential types of scams.
