POLICE have confirmed that a suspicious package found on the main Cookstown to Omagh Road was a hoax.
Officers were alerted to the incident at the junction of the Upper Kildress Road and Drum Road, following a report from a member of the public shortly before 2pm on Wednesday.
The roads were closed and traffic diversions put in place.
An Army bomb disposal team was called to the scene and examined the object, which was later found to be a hoax.
The roads were reopened shortly after 8pm.
