GARDAI and the PSNI have identified the dissident republican gunman who murdered David Black.
According to a report in the Sunday Times, a leading dissident from Coalisland is being blamed for the killing of the 52-year-old father of two from Cookstown. Comments from a security source stated: “The gunman has a long history of active involvement in republican terrorism and was once a key member of the IRA’s East Tyrone Brigade. He left the IRA after the ceasfire and has been a committed terrorist ever since.”
Mr Black died after several shots was fired into his car as he drove along the M1 Motorway between Portadown and Lurgan.
The car used by the terror gang was later found burnt out in Lurgan. A number of indviduals were arrested in the aftermath of the murder and released without charge.
The killing of David Black is still under investigation by the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch.
