A 18 month ban has been given to a Cookstown man who was caught driving at twice over the drink driving limit.
Robertas Mickevicius, 32, from Chapel Street, was stopped on Sweep Road on January 30 due to “irregular” driving.
A strong smell of alcohol was detected and he subsequently provided a specimen containing 67mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
His solicitor claimed that his client had “substantial” mental health issues and had been in a psychiatric care.
He further said that on the day in question the defendant had only had “two or three glasses of beer”.
District Judge John Meehan handed down a 18 month driving ban and fines totalling £200.
He also admitted failing to surrender to custody on March 9.
