Children are unable to use the playing pitches at Glenelly Villas, Draperstown, because of dog fouling, Magherafelt Council heard.

Cllr Catherine Elattar said the matter was raised at the local community group. Director of operations Andrew Cassells said he would get the enforcement officer to patrol the area.

Last week, the Mid Ulster Mail revealed the extent of dog fouling at cemeteries in Cookstown and Coagh.

There have also been ongoing problems with dog fouling at the cemetery in Magherafelt.
