A GROUP of 30 Year 8, 9 and 10 pupils from St Pius X College, Magherafelt recently travelled to Paris, accompanied by Miss Mc Menamin, Mr Devlin and Mrs Rocks. The students thoroughly enjoyed this educational visit, which helped develop their knowledge of the French language, culture and art.
In Paris, the group took a guided coach tour round the city, and were impressed by the buildings and monuments they were able to recognise. This was followed by a visit to the Louvre, where they were able to see the famous Mona-Lisa.
The following day included a visit to Versailles, the impressive palace of King Louis XIV, Montmartre, and Notre Dame Cathedral. The day ended nicely with a boat trip on the River Seine. The highlight of the trip for many was a day spent in Disneyland Paris, where we joined in the 20th anniversary celebrations!
On the last day everyone enjoyed the views of Paris from the Eiffel Tower, giving us the chance to fully appreciate the Paris skyline. After some last minute shopping, it was off to the airport for our flight back to Dublin, all exhausted but happy after a
wonderful four days in Paris!
