GAMES were afoot in Magherafelt Primary last week as arch enemies Sherlock Holmes and his faithful sidekick Dr Watson joined forces to outwit their fiercest adversary, the evil Professor Moriarty.

Parents, supporters, pupils past and present enjoyed the masterful and entertaining performances of ‘Sherlock Holmes and the Emerald of Alcazar’, by the senior pupils of the school.

School Principal Mr George Buckley sincerely thanked all those who had contributed to the success of the performances with special appreciation going to the Costume Co-ordinator Mrs Denise Barfoot, Lighting and Sound Technician Mr Mark Anderson and to the Parents Support Group who carried out their duties with their usual quiet efficiency manner.

However, greatest praise was extended to the actors who excelled all expectations in the performances each evening. Mr Buckley expressed his sincere pride in the children who participated in the play and stated that it had been an honour to nurture their creative talent.
