NOW that Halloween is over, attention is already turning to Christmas and interest is growing in what special events are happening in Cookstown in the run up to the festive season.
An exciting addition to plans this year is the town’s first ever Festive Food Fair which will take place in the Burnavon on Saturday, December 7, open to the public from 10am to 5pm.
With spaces still available, organisers want to hear from quality food producers who would like to take this opportunity to exhibit and sell their produce at an event that is expected sure to attract a large crowd of keen shoppers. So if you are a local food producer interested in taking part just contact Mary at the Burnavon on 867 69949 option 4.
First up however is the annual Winter Craft Fair again at the Burnavon on Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24. Again with over fifty different exhibitors over the course of the two day event, there is sure to be something to appeal to everyone and to suit all purses.
On Thursday, November 28 at 7.30pm it’s the Big Switch On of the town’s brand new Christmas lights. This year organisers are delighted to welcome Cool FM DJ Connor Phillips. He will introduce live musical performances and keep the crowd in chat in the build-up to Santa’s arrival, the count down and the Big Switch-On The fun starts at t the earlier time of 6.30pm.
Then on Saturday, December 7 it’s the Festive Food Fair. Open from 10am to 5pm a host of quality food producers and distributors will be in the one location. The Festive Food Fair is the ideal opportunity to stock up with all those special goodies – puddings, cakes, bakes, chutneys and preserves – as well as sample and order fresh produce from local suppliers in time for Christmas.
And remember if you are a seller not a buyer it’s not too late to sign up for the Festive Food Fair on Saturday, December 7. Just call Mary on 867 69949 option 4 to find out more.
