Kildress Wolfe Tones Culture Committee recently held a fun day of culture called Lá Cultúrtha.

The day was attended by nearly 70 primary school children from P2-P7. All Children took part in 5 workshops including; Sean Nós Dancing (led by Catherine Baxter, Drumquin) Drama (Led by Geraldine & Anna Bradley, Belfast), learning a pop song in Irish(Orla Canavan & Laoise Quinn), Games through the medium of Irish(Nuala O Hagan) and Arts & Crafts using Irish words and Celtic designs.(Brenda Mc Kenna). The day culminated in a performance of activities learned throughout the day.

KWT Culture Committee would like to thank Cookstown District Council, Arts and Culture, and Irish Language Office for their support. Also the Parents and young people who gave of their time to help on the day as team leaders. The Mill Wheel Bar who provided the refreshments and St Mary P.S Dunamore who allowed us use of its facilities.
