Have your say

A NEW branch of the Incredible Edible Network is starting in Ballinascreen to help you discover new skills, open up training opportunities and get individuals, families and the community involved in ‘grow your own’ techniques.

If you’re interested in finding out more, then come along to the polytunnel site situated on the Back Road in Draperstown on Saturday (August 17) between 2pm and 4pm.

Helen and Lori who represent both Sperrins Gateway Landscape Partnership and Network Personnel will be demonstrating planting techniques and supervising various horticultural themed activities.

The free activities you can expect to partake in range from potting parsley to designing and creating muddy art. You can also test your knowledge and see how well you know your wild flowers from your weeds. If you have horticultural questions, a trained professional will be on hand to help you out.

The open day is also a chance for you to share your ideas. It is hoped to open up dialogue within the community regarding possibilities of training and community events that will inspire, inform and interest people in various aspects of horticulture.
