An east Tyrone nightclub has installed a defibrillator.
Time Bar & Venue in Cookstown has put the potentially life-saving device – used to treat victims of cardiac arrest – on its outside wall.
DUP councillor Frances Burton, chairwoman of the Mid Ulster Policing and Community Safety Partnership, said: “As soon as someone has a heart attack and goes into cardiac arrest the clock is ticking.
“Therefore installation of this life saving equipment could be the best investment ever made. I wish to commend everybody involved in this initiative, particularly Brendan McCusker, manager of Time Bar and Venue, for agreeing to have the defibrillator installed on their outside wall.”
A device is soon to be put in Dungannon town centre too.
