Future of Cookstown care home secure after landlords agree to step in

The current landlords of Cookstown's Fairfields Care Centre have ensured the facility's future by agreeing to take over its management.

Mr and Mrs Haughey recently agreed to run the site and UUP MLA Sandra Overend said she was delighted.

“There was concern when the news first emerged that the company which managed Fairfields Care Centre had gone into administration, but I am delighted to hear that the future of the home has been secured for the long-term, with the current landlords, Mr and Mrs Haughey, coming forward to take over the management,” Mrs Overend said.

“From speaking with the manager of Fairfields, I was pleased to be made aware of the long-term plans that the new management have for the care centre, which include proposals to renovate and extend the facility. This will greatly benefit the residents of the home who receive vital nursing, residential, and dementia care. I wish the new management team well.”
